Privacy Policy.
Mike Tyson Invitational respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your information — written in plain language so you can actually read it.
Who We Are.
"MTI," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Mike Tyson Invitational, the organizer of the MTI youth boxing platform and event series. This policy applies to miketysoninvitational.com and to any data you share with us through the live event, our forms, or our communications.
For the purposes of GDPR and similar laws, MTI is the data controller of the personal information described below.
What We Collect.
Information you give us directly
- Email signups — your email address, and (on the MTI 2 page) your first name, last name, and the role you select (fighter, coach, family, fan).
- Donations — payment information is collected directly by our payment processor (Donorbox); we receive only confirmation details such as your name, email, donation amount, and any acknowledgment preference.
- Fighter registration — handled externally by Konquer Sports; we receive results from them after registration is complete (name, weight class, age category, gym affiliation, contact info, parental consent for minors).
- Sponsorship and accessibility inquiries — when you email contact@miketysoninvitational.com, we receive whatever you choose to share.
- Live-event participation — at MTI 2 in Las Vegas, we may collect waivers, medical clearance, photo/video releases, and emergency contact information from fighters and their guardians. This is required for participation under USA Boxing sanctioning rules.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, screen size, language, and timezone.
- Usage data — pages visited, time on page, links clicked, and the page that referred you to us.
- Accessibility-widget settings — your text size, contrast, and motion preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage so they persist across visits. This data never leaves your device.
Information from third parties
- Social media — if you interact with our embedded posts or links, those platforms may share aggregated analytics with us (e.g., view counts, engagement metrics — never individual identities).
- Donor tools — Donorbox shares donation receipts and contact details for the donations you complete.
How We Use It.
We use your information to do the work of running MTI:
- Send you the MTI updates, fighter announcements, and event news you signed up for
- Process donations and provide tax-deductible receipts
- Coordinate fighter logistics (travel, lodging, weigh-ins, bout assignments)
- Respond to sponsorship, accessibility, and general inquiries
- Improve the website (which pages are useful, where users get stuck)
- Comply with legal obligations (USA Boxing sanctioning, tax reporting, accessibility law)
- Protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
What we don't do: we don't sell your personal information. We don't run targeted ad networks on the site. We don't share your contact details with sponsors unless you've separately opted in to a specific sponsor activation.
When We Share.
We share information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers — vendors who run pieces of our operation (email platform, donation processor, registration platform, hosting, ticketing). They may only use the data we share to perform services for us.
- USA Boxing — fighter and bout data required for event sanctioning, medical clearance verification, and rankings.
- Legal requests — if we receive a valid subpoena, court order, or other legal demand, we will respond as required by law.
- Safety — if sharing is necessary to protect the safety of fighters, staff, or the public (e.g., a medical emergency at a live event).
- Business changes — if MTI is acquired or merges with another organization, your data may transfer with the rest of the business; we will notify subscribers in advance.
- With your explicit consent — for example, if you opt into a specific sponsor co-marketing activation.
Third-Party Services.
The following third-party services handle parts of our operation. Each has its own privacy policy that governs how they use your data:
- Klaviyo — email marketing platform for newsletter subscriptions. Klaviyo Privacy Notice ↗
- Donorbox — donation processing. Donorbox Privacy Policy ↗
- Konquer Sports — fighter registration. Privacy terms governed by Konquer.
- Shopify — official MTI merchandise store hosted at miketyson.com. Shopify Privacy Policy ↗
- Google Fonts — typefaces (Bebas Neue, Barlow) loaded from Google's CDN.
- Sahara Las Vegas — venue hosting MTI 2; ticketing and on-site arrangements are governed by the venue's policies.
- Social platforms — Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube. Linking out from MTI to these services subjects you to their privacy practices.
Cookies & Tracking.
This site uses minimal cookies and local storage:
- Functional only — no advertising cookies, no third-party tracking pixels, no behavioral retargeting.
- Accessibility settings — stored in your browser's localStorage so your text-size and contrast preferences persist. Cleared if you click "Reset All" in the accessibility widget or clear your browser data.
- Future analytics — if we add Klaviyo's onsite tracking or a privacy-respecting analytics tool, this policy will be updated and you'll be notified at the bottom of pages before any new tracking begins.
You can disable cookies entirely in your browser settings without breaking the core site experience.
Minors & Youth Athletes.
MTI is built around young fighters, many of whom are under 18 and some of whom may be under 13. We take this seriously:
- The website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through general website use (newsletter signups, browsing).
- Fighter registration for athletes under 18 must be completed by a parent or legal guardian. The registration process (handled by Konquer Sports) is designed to obtain verifiable parental consent before any minor's information is processed.
- Live event participation for minors requires a signed parental release covering medical authorization, photo and video usage, travel logistics, and emergency contact protocols. These releases are reviewed by USA Boxing.
- Photography and video at the live event may include minors. We obtain releases from parents or guardians before publishing any identifiable footage of a minor fighter on our website, social channels, or marketing materials.
- Right to remove — if you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor in your care has provided personal information without consent, contact us immediately at contact@miketysoninvitational.com and we will delete it.
This section is intended to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent youth-protection regulations.

Data Retention.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for, or as required by law:

- Inquiry emails — typically 24 months unless they relate to an ongoing matter.
- Aggregated analytics (which page is popular, etc.) — retained indefinitely in non-identifiable form.
Security.
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information:
- HTTPS encryption on miketysoninvitational.com
- Vetted vendors — we choose service providers that meet recognized security standards (Klaviyo, Donorbox, and Shopify are all SOC 2 attested or equivalent)
- Limited access — only MTI staff with a business need can access subscriber, donor, or fighter information
- Incident response — if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and any required authorities within the timeframes set by applicable law (typically 72 hours for GDPR-eligible breaches)
No system is perfectly secure. If you have a security concern, email contact@miketysoninvitational.com with "Security" in the subject and we will investigate promptly.
International Visitors.
MTI is operated from the United States. If you visit from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from your local laws.
For visitors in the EU, UK, or other regions with cross-border transfer requirements, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards with our service providers.
Changes to This Policy.
We may update this policy as our practices evolve. When we do:
- We update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page
- We bump the version number
- For material changes (new categories of data, new sharing, etc.), we email subscribers and post a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days before the changes take effect
Your continued use of the site after a policy update means you accept the revised policy. If you don't agree, unsubscribe and contact us to delete your data.
