Accessibility Statement.
Mike Tyson Invitational is committed to making the experience of championship boxing accessible to every fan, fighter, family member, and partner — online and at the live event.
Our Commitment.
Mike Tyson Invitational ("MTI") believes everyone deserves equal access to information and the experience of the sport we love. We work to conform our website and the live event experience to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice in interpretations of Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Accessibility is not a checkbox — it's an ongoing practice. We audit, test, and improve continuously, and we welcome feedback from anyone who encounters a barrier on this site or at our events.
What We've Built In.
Every page on miketysoninvitational.com includes:
- Accessibility widget (bottom-right of every page) — adjust text size, enable high contrast, grayscale mode, link highlighting, animation pause, readable system font, and an enlarged cursor. Settings persist across pages and visits.
- Skip-to-main-content link — keyboard users can bypass the navigation and jump directly to page content using the Tab key.
- Keyboard navigation — every interactive control (links, buttons, form fields, carousel pause-on-hover, lightbox, mobile menu) is operable with Tab, Enter, Space, and Escape.
- Visible focus indicators — a high-contrast red outline appears on any element you've navigated to with the keyboard.
- Semantic landmarks — pages use proper
<nav>,<main>, and<footer>elements so assistive technology can navigate by region. - Descriptive alt text on meaningful images; decorative images are marked accordingly.
- ARIA attributes on dialogs, toggle buttons, navigation menus, and carousels (
aria-label,aria-expanded,aria-pressed,aria-hidden,aria-controls). - Form labels — every input is labeled either visually or via
aria-labelfor assistive technology. - Reduced-motion support — toggling "Pause Animations" disables every CSS animation and transition, including the auto-scrolling sponsor carousels and stat marquee.
- Color contrast — body text meets the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against background; large text and interactive UI elements meet at least 3:1.
Mobile Experience.
The site is fully responsive. On screens 900 pixels wide and below, navigation collapses into a slide-in panel accessible via a hamburger button — keyboard- and screen-reader-friendly, with focus management when opened and closed. The accessibility widget repositions for thumb reach on smaller screens.
Compatibility & Tooling.
The site is designed and tested to work with current versions of the following browsers and assistive technologies:
- Browsers: Safari (macOS, iOS), Chrome, Firefox, Edge — current and previous major versions
- Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS, iOS), NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows), TalkBack (Android)
- Operating systems: macOS, Windows 10/11, iOS 14+, Android 10+
- Input methods: mouse, touch, full keyboard, voice (Voice Control / Dragon)
Known Limitations.
We're transparent about what's still in progress:
- Third-party content embedded from external services (e.g., YouTube videos on the Road to MTI 2 page, Donorbox donation flows, Konquer registration forms) is governed by the accessibility of those providers. We choose vendors who meet WCAG AA, but cannot directly control their interfaces.
- User-uploaded media in the Gallery section may have varying alt-text quality during initial population. We are committed to providing meaningful alt text for every photo before public publication.
- The on-page sponsor logos use grayscale-by-default styling that intensifies on hover. This is a stylistic choice that may reduce visibility for some users; the accessibility widget's "Pause Animations" toggle disables this effect.
At the Live Event.
MTI 2 takes place at Sahara Las Vegas on July 25, 2026. The venue is fully ADA accessible — accessible parking, ramps, elevators, accessible seating, and accessible restrooms. Service animals are welcome.
If you require specific accommodations for the live event — accessible seating, ASL interpretation, assistive listening devices, sensory-friendly arrival times, or any other support — please contact us in advance using the email below and we will work with you to confirm arrangements before event day.
